The main characters of this new adult, romance story are Drew Baylor, Anna Marie Jones. This story is incredibly multi-layered, so flawlessly written that I found myself re-reading passages just so that I would fully absorb the beauty of the prose, and it moved me deeply. Kristen Callihan is a new to me author, but will now be gracing my auto-buy shelf because she weaved a story that technically should have been 'been there, read that', yet managed to suck me in so thoroughly that I couldn't bring myself to put it down. You know the one: Guy and Girl meet, they dance around each other for the first 30-50% of the book and then they either get together or make a big move, then things are going great until about 70-80%, someone messes up big time and things are off. While the outcome was predictable, the road that this guy and gal took to get together was anything but.
It takes a while for the h to develop stronger feelings, but the H feels strongly right away doesn't express love or anything until way later. Tonight was obviously an ill-advised hook up for her. What starts as just hook-up sex, becomes more as the development of their romance also brings a true intimacy into their love scenes. I saw a sweet and caring man and i couldn't do anything than sympathize him. As soon as class ends, I attempt to flee. But all could change in the blink of an eye. You just needed a little push in his direction.
Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family's fortune decimated and forced her to wed London's most nefarious nobleman. I appreciated how he pursued the h. He makes my knees weak and my skin heat. The vision of endless toothpaste commercial candidates dancing through my head makes it all a little hard to believe. Luckily all of the emotion and angst was fitting and there was no manufactured drama that ever took away from the story. My mood is so rotten, I almost regret giving Gray a key, but then I smell something drifting from the big pot on the stove that makes my mouth water and decide his occasional invasions are worth it.
Now I want more… What can I say about Chess Copper? Where the first half was boy meets girl, girl rejects boy, boy chases, girl gets caught, the second was particularly engaging, watching the growth of not only the protags but also some of the secondary characters, especially one of the footballers who is the hero in the next book. I'm asking myself why in the hell did I wait so long to read this book? I loved that I felt all the tingles and heart pitter patters from the beginning. His nostrils flare on an indrawn breath, and his gaze goes liquid hot. It takes the breath out of the roaring crowd, creating dead silence. The woman is capable of bringing me to my knees. And worse, his key adversary in the perilous race for the Star is the dreaded Shadow Monarch -- a legendary elf-witch whose machinations for absolute domination spread deeper than Konowa could ever imagine.
Tonight was obviously an ill-advised hook up for her. And drew kept trying and trying and Anna would take one baby step forward and multiple baby steps back. Drew may be a local star, but he's not the guy everyone thinks he is. You didn't know how to live under my light? She shrugs and grabs another fry. I'm not a masochist by any means.
And that energy bounces back over me, lifting the little hairs along my skin, tripping up the steady beat of my heart. He has a big heart and is truly a great guy. Here we have two people who are moving forward in their lives but not necessarily enjoying what they have cause they have a big whole to fill. Only I ruin this later, when, in the privacy of my room, I open the box of Red Hots that I bought and pop a handful into my mouth. But deep inside my chest, I still ache.
He's the golden boy of his college. You know there's that moment when you need and want its definitely the case for Drew the only thing is Anna rebels and may want him back but won't admit it so there are rules and they go like this: no kissing on the mouth, no staying the night, no telling anyone, and above all… No falling in love. The rules: no kissing on the mouth, no staying the night, no telling anyone, and above all… No falling in love. This was a very nice story that made me pass from many stages while i was reading it. No one is more surprised than me. But please don't judge the book on that smarmy guy. And as she uncovers a tradition of twisted rituals passed down through the dark reaches of history, Sorcha will be forced to reconsider everything she thinks she knows.
Having been chubby for most of my adolescence has left me sensitive. Anna Jones doesn't know what she wants to do with her life she's at college and all but the only thing she would like is to be in New York, She lives with her friend and enjoys her little life of contentment studying, working but after a not great break up in her past she doesn't do relationships she doesn't want the feelings that go with it nor has she been out recently that is until her friends get her out where she bumps into Drew and where they start their Hook Up now I'm not going to tell you much more about the story just lets say emotions obviously get involved and its time to take a chance when you just know right? Confident and charming, he lives in the limelight and is way too gorgeous for his own good. Oddly, the guy gapes back at me, as if he too feels the strange kick. She was sassy, smart, and I liked how she came to care for the H. But Anna and Drew made it a fuckin' mess and i was with Drew's side. Because at that moment, I became a bonehead.
