Majestic cedar trees surround the area and make for perfectly shaded, private campsites at this adults only campground. Plenty of room for the kids to ride their bikes and play but don't trust the playground - not only is it located directly next to the busy road but it is old and doesn't seem very stable. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. A couple of times of day a wood seller and a mini school bus drive around selling ice, worms, etc. We're located just minutes from an evolving and growing downtown that is host to great food, Trout River Brewery, Toonerville Rail trail, the Springfield Art Gym, an d so much more. While the southern bridge takes you to I-89 and Burlington, the northern bridge will take you to several other islands worth visiting and eventually up into Canada. The Montshire Museum of Science rated one of the top 25 science centers in the country by Parent Magazine is a neighbor, as well as the Vermont Institute of Natural Science which has a fantastic Raptor Exhibit featuring the Northeast's largest collection of birds of prey. There's nothing fancy about this campground but it's quiet and convenient for sightseeing in the Rutland area. Look at the many scheduled throughout the season.
