In particular we found several along the Oregon coast, but one of our favorites was farther inland. The traffic noise is not distracting, just expect it because of your location. What information is available tends to indicate that most of the sites are primitive, occasionally with water available but not at your site. And though that is largely what it is, for those who are interested in looking beyond the typical 75mph non-stop via I-75 to Colorado, there are some sites worth seeing. The Little Pigeon River runs around the campground, offering our campers the best swimming hole in the Smokies, the famous Flint Rock, with private beach and excellent trout fishing along the banks of the river. Lots of entertainment and just an all around nice place. Only two shower houses each with two showers for men and same for women. The park is very pretty and peaceful. Still, from the Sierras to the Redwoods, the deserts to the oak forests of the central valley, you certainly get what you pay for. Showers were a little moldy but the sinks and toilets clean and well sticked.
Not my idea of customer service. I prefer more sunshine than was able to get thru the thick tree cover. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Instead of trash cans at each site, you will find a centrally located dumpster and recycling bins. Little ones will love climbing and playing on the playground, parents will enjoy lounging on the sun deck by the pool, and your four-legged friends will have a blast in the designated pet area! Some were run down, expensive, and not nearly as nice as the cheaper county run parks that we stayed at around the state. Large spots with full hookups.

The office didn't even write it down. Although our reservation was lost, very friendly staff was able to accommodate with a suitable site. With all of the campgrounds out there each claiming to be the best, finding a campground that actually lives up to their promises can be a challenge. Check-in time is at noon and check-out time is at 11 am! The shower houses and an additional rest room are all uphill from the lake area and the dirt paths to them are muddy slip-n-slides when it rains. There was a swimming beach, playground and boat ramp on site. Listed by state, with a picture or two here and there, and our notes and the thoughts of other full-time travelers sprinkled throughout. We are 15 minutes from Fort Campbell, Civitan Park and Dunbar Cave State Park. The way only redeeming factor was the lady in the office.
